Meet Your Teachers
Hey there! I’m David Morgan. Here’s a bit about me:
I love music and teaching, and have been doing this now for over 25 years! I’ve discovered over this time that everyone is different, and we can’t just have a single method of bringing the joy of music to students.
I have a young family and love spending time with my kids, seeing them grow and discover the world.
I’m also part of a couple of bands, and enjoy regularly performing. My desire is that our students develop a lifelong joy in music, that continues even after they stop regular lessons.
I believe your child will find our school to be a breath of fresh air! I’d love to welcome you to a class, so you can experience it for yourself! .
Hello, I’m Deborah a piano teacher at Mad Hatter. I love singing musicals and salsa dancing, but my ULTIMATE passion is teaching piano to kids and proudly witnessing their joy and progression.
I have been blessed to learn the piano as a child, and over the years have expressed myself through dance, guitar, singing and clarinet too. I have gone through and helped students through the AMEB exams aswell, with exceptional results.
Initially after schooling I worked passionately in childcare, and later found my feet in teaching piano to students of all ages.
My big family gathers monthly to celebrate the latest birthdays, and my eight siblings and I perform and jam together. We love it! Over the weekend I sing with my Dad at our local church.
I am often described as warm, nurturing, funny and patient, and great with kids! I believe children need a positive, inspiring environment to reach their fullest potential, therefore I always aim to support and teach in ways that are fun and inclusive to everyone!
Hello, I’m Justin and I’m a piano teacher at Mad Hatter Music School.
With over 15 years of experience teaching music to children across early childhood and primary levels, I bring a passion for child-led learning, strong musicality, and a creative approach
What excites me most about teaching at Mad Hatter is the emphasis on creativity and flexibility in teaching. I believe music should be a joyful and enjoyable journey for every child!
Hello, I’m Lily and I’m a piano teacher at Mad Hatter Music School.
I’ve been playing piano since I was six years old and have always loved being part of the performing arts — from singing lessons and school theatre to performing in bands. Music has given me confidence and joy, and I’m passionate about passing that on to my students.
Working with children has always been a highlight for me. I love making lessons fun and encouraging, so each child can feel proud of their progress. My goal is to help every student build confidence, discover their creativity, and develop a lifelong love of music.

“Why, sometimes I’ve believed in as many as six impossible things before breakfast.” ~ Lewis Carroll
Mad Hatter Music is a school designed with KIDS in mind.
“Aren’t all schools designed for kids?”, I hear you ask. Well, let’s just say that’s a matter of opinion. Can you tell me how many minutes break your child gets from school in a typical 6hr day? Does she get ample time to freely use her imagination? Does he receive praise when he questions everything he’s told or enjoys finding different ways to solve a problem?
At Mad Hatter, we are a music school specifically created to put the fun back into learning. To capture our children’s sense of adventure. Our school freely encourages teachers to change directions with kids at the drop of a hat. (excuse the pun!)
Why? Because that’s who KIDS are! Basically, we are saying that everything you see and hear from your child, is what we’ve designed our school around. Their short attention spans, their eagerness to learn. Their incessant questions. Their need for a routine but also for flexibility.
Have you heard of the infamous “Mad Hatter” from Alice in Wonderland? It’s so interesting to see Disney’s portrayal of his character. Here is a fully grown adult with childlike curiosity. A human with a thirst to ask unanswerable riddles and switch chairs for no reason at all. His struggle with emotional control is normalised too - he endlessly swings from being happy one moment to angry the next! His concept of time is limited to simply choosing to be cheerful at any moment in time.
The Mad Hatter embodies who we are as a school - a place for kids to freely be who they’re designed to be.
